Position Overview

Wediko School/The Home for Little Wanderers is seeking a Classroom Teacher for their Hillsborough, New Hampshire campus. Located on 450 lakefront acres, Wediko School is a residential treatment center providing therapeutic and educational services to middle and high school-aged youth facing social-emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges.

Responsibilities

The Classroom Teacher oversees instruction and classroom management, plans lessons, monitors student progress, and collaborates with staff to model positive behavior and maintain a safe, supportive environment.

Key Duties
  • Lead classroom and tutorial instruction, establishing clear behavior standards.
  • Build positive relationships with students and incorporate technology into lessons.
  • Create a nurturing, safe environment in the dorm setting and support group transitions.
  • Provide timely feedback, record data accurately, and complete required documentation.
  • Participate in supervision, support colleagues, and contribute to team efforts.
  • Engage in professional development, maintain licensure, and seek ongoing learning opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with NH licensure in Special Education or eligibility for a Statement of Eligibility.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Satisfactory CPI Training completion; preferred driving record for student transportation.
