Job description

Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Stockton-On-Tees

Contract Type: Long term

Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist primary school in Middlesbrough.

This school caters to pupils aged 4 to 11 with a range of learning difficulties, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). This outstanding primary school takes pride in prioritising pupil wellbeing, making it an ideal environment for candidates passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

Relevant or transferable experience is preferred.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 15:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one
  • Have a background working in education or relevant experience working with SEND
  • Have a knowledge of EHCP's and how to effectively implement these
  • Provide tailored 1:1 or group support to pupils with a range of needs
  • Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support
  • Be confident in working alongside students, ensuring they are fully supported within their learning and general classroom activities
  • Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students
