Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Stockton-On-Tees

Contract Type: Long term

Leader Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist primary school in Middlesbrough. This school caters to pupils aged 4 to 11 with a range of learning difficulties, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). It prioritizes pupil wellbeing, making it ideal for candidates passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

Relevant or transferable experience is preferred.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 to 15:30, and it is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one
  • Have a background working in education or relevant experience working with SEND
  • Have knowledge of EHCPs and how to effectively implement them
  • Provide tailored 1:1 or group support to pupils with a range of needs
  • Work effectively with parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support
  • Be confident in working alongside students, ensuring they are fully supported within their learning and classroom activities
  • Possess communication skills that can be personalized to suit students
