About the role:
As a Classroom Nursing Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with medical needs, ensuring they receive both the healthcare and educational assistance required to thrive in a school environment. You will work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and healthcare professionals to provide tailored support for students with complex medical conditions, disabilities, or additional learning needs.

Essential Qualities That We Are Looking For:

• Providing one-on-one and group support to students with medical and educational needs.
• Assisting with personal care, mobility support, and medical interventions as required.
• Monitoring students' health conditions and administering medication under guidance.
• Supporting students with SEN, physical disabilities, or complex healthcare needs.
• Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals to implement EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans).
• Promoting independence, confidence, and inclusion within the classroom.
• Ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.

The Successful Candidate Will:

• A healthcare background, such as nursing, care work, or SEN support.
• Experience working with children or young people in an educational or care setting.
• Knowledge of medical procedures such as administering medication, feeding support, or mobility assistance (training can be provided).
• A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with children with additional needs.
• Relevant qualifications in healthcare, SEN support, or education (desirable but not essential).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with staff and families effectively.

To work with GSL Education as a Classroom Nursing Assistant, you should:

• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
• Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
