Job summary

Mangotsfield School is seeking a committed Cover Supervisor to step in for absent teachers, guiding classes through structured work and maintaining focus and safety. You will support students individually and in groups, and help prepare engaging learning resources under the direction of teaching staff.

Applicants should have GCSE-equivalent English and Maths, a background with young people, and a strong safeguarding ethos.

Qualifications

• GCSE-equivalent English and Maths qualifications.
• Background working with young people in a school or youth setting.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.

Responsibilities

• Lead lessons when teachers are absent using pre-planned tasks.
• Create a welcoming, focused classroom environment where pupils can learn safely.
• Support individual learners or small groups and help with questions.
• Return completed work to teachers and share updates on progress and behaviour.
• Supervise break times or provide a quieter space for pupils when needed.
