Job summary

Outwood Academy Ormesby is seeking a proactive supervisor to cover short-term teacher absences and ensure continuity of learning. You will oversee whole classes, implement pre-set work, and support learners in a respectful, orderly environment.

You will manage behaviour according to the school's policy, assist with preparing environments and materials, help with exam invigilation, attendance recording, and respond to pupil questions about the set work.

Qualifications

• Essential skills required are the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of audiences, maintain confidentiality, and utilise standard ICT packages including Microsoft Office.
• The supervisor must demonstrate excellent time management and organisation skills.
• Crucially, they must relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner and recognise potential child safeguarding issues.
• Experience of working in a school environment is desirable.
• The ability and willingness to obtain and/or enhance qualifications and training and development is essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absence, implementing pre-set work.
• Manage student behaviour in line with the Consequences Policy to maintain a constructive environment.
• Assist in preparing the environment and materials, and respond to questions about the set work.
• Collect completed assignments and record/report lesson attendance accurately.
• Support examination logistics by assisting in invigilation and reporting pupil behaviour using referral procedures.
