Classroom Assistant - Cardiff Area
Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Classroom Assistant to support children and young people with additional learning needs. This full-time position involves working with students across both primary and secondary phases, supporting a wide range of needs including Autism, Down's Syndrome, behavioural challenges, speech and language difficulties, and sensory impairments.
The school prides itself on delivering an alternative approach to education that blends academic instruction with practical and vocational learning. By adapting to different learning styles-whether kinaesthetic, visual, or otherwise-the school ensures every student has the opportunity to thrive.
Key Requirements:
While a formal Teaching Assistant qualification is not required, previous experience working with individuals with additional needs is highly desirable. Ideal candidates will be confident, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
Position Details:
Contract Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)
Working Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour
Location: Cardiff, Wales
Responsibilities Include:
Supporting pupils with classroom tasks and activities
Leading small group sessions
Assisting with personal care when required
Supervising students throughout the day, including transitions, breaks, and lunchtimes
Providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment
Essential Requirements (Support Provided for Application):
Enhanced DBS check (Child and Adult Workforce)
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
Level 2 Safeguarding Certificate

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
