Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking Classroom Assistants to work across primary schools in Liverpool. You will support teachers, supervise activities, and help children with additional needs. The role offers short-term and long-term placements with immediate starts.

A DBS clearance is essential, and you should have at least 3 months of relevant experience. We provide weekly pay, flexible hours, enhanced training, and a supportive team to help you find suitable placements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 months of experience working with children in a school, nursery, or similar environment.
  • References covering the last two years.
  • Current DBS check on the update service or willingness to apply.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and supervising educational games, sports, and craft activities.
  • Assisting children with reading and literacy activities.
  • Preparing classrooms for lessons and classroom displays.
  • Supporting children with additional needs on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
  • Supervising activities both in and outside the classroom.
  • Helping with school trips and events.
  • Assisting with behaviour management and classroom organisation.

The Classroom Assistant role has opportunities for both short-term and long-term assignments, with immediate starts available.

About the Role

The ideal Classroom Assistant will be supportive and engaging, helping to create a positive learning environment. You will assist teachers in supervising classroom activities, supporting pupils during lessons, and helping children with additional needs. Your responsibilities may also include preparing classroom displays, supervising group activities, and supporting children on trips.

Our partner schools are inclusive and welcoming environments that value teamwork, safeguarding, and developmental support. A background in working with children in settings such as schools or nurseries, along with current DBS clearance, is essential. The role offers the opportunity to work in diverse classrooms, supporting children of different ages and needs.

Key Responsibilities
