Seeking a Class Teacher to Join a Specialist School in Southend!

This is a unique opportunity to join an exceptional special school for pupils aged 3 to 19, currently supporting 228 young people.

You Will:
  • Lead a class team with confidence and curiosity

  • Encourage creative, solution-focused collaboration

  • Model outstanding teaching and set high expectations

  • Plan highly individualised learning, often creating new approaches tailored to student needs

  • Play a key role in Annual Reviews and work closely with families to shape shared priorities

  • Actively listen to every voice around the learner and reflect this in your planning and support

  • Lead on performance development within your class team

  • Support teaching and learning through coaching and training

  • Collaborate with Curriculum Leaders on curriculum planning and assessment

  • Contribute to school-wide improvement through monitoring and evaluation

  • Ensure safeguarding and communication with families is strong and consistent

  • Help narrate each pupil’s journey and identify areas for growth

  • Take part in the everyday running and organisation of the school

  • Take on additional professional duties as delegated by the Headteacher

Experience:

Previous experience in a SEND setting is not essential — what matters most is your dedication, creativity, and drive to ensure every learner thrives.
