Class Teacher – SEN Specialist Setting
Location: North London Area (Undisclosed School)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS (Outer London) + SEN Allowance (£2,769)
An established and well-regarded special educational needs (SEN) school in North London is seeking a creative, dedicated, and resilient Class Teacher to join its experienced teaching team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils aged 3–19 with severe and profound learning difficulties, many of whom have complex medical or physical needs.
You will lead a class of learners who benefit from a highly differentiated, engaging curriculum and a strong multidisciplinary support team. Whether you are an experienced SEN teacher or a primary/secondary teacher with a strong interest in special education, we welcome applications from committed professionals ready to grow their expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver creative, adapted lessons that meet the complex needs of each pupil
Maintain a structured and positive classroom environment using visual, sensory and communication supports
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals
Lead on the development and delivery of individualised education plans (IEPs), risk assessments, and annual reviews
Support personal care and life skills programmes where needed
Communicate effectively with families and contribute to multi-agency planning
What We’re Looking For:
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
Experience teaching children or young people with SEND (SEN school experience desirable, not essential)
Excellent organisational skills and a reflective, growth-focused teaching style
Strong emotional resilience and a commitment to inclusive practice
Ability to lead a classroom team and work collaboratively across departments
