Job summary

Ermine Primary Academy in Lincoln is seeking a Class Teacher (Primary) to deliver high-quality lessons across KS1 and KS2. The maternity cover position is fixed-term until 31/08/2027 and 31/12/2027, with a January 2027 start date.

You will join a supportive Harbour Learning Trust community, prioritising professional development and collaboration while maintaining high standards and safeguarding at the forefront of practice.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and an undergraduate degree are required.
  • Experience teaching in a primary environment across both KS1 and KS2.
  • Strong understanding of the subjects and curriculum areas you teach.
  • Deep understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to young people’s wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach well-organised lessons informed by current pedagogy and subject knowledge.
  • Develop the emotional skills of children to support high-quality teaching and learning.

  • Establish a safe, purposeful learning environment in line with safeguarding policies.
  • Collaborate as part of a team to share effective practices and uphold school ethos.

The Role
  • Location: Ermine Primary Academy, Lincoln
  • Salary Scale: MPS 1
  • Contract Type: Maternity cover - 1 x Fixed term until 31/08/2027 & 1 x Fixed term until 31/12/2027
  • Reports to: Principal
  • Start Date: January 2027

As a Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality, challenging lessons that engage and motivate primary students across KS1 and KS2. You will work to ensure that every child receives an ambitious education, regardless of their starting point, background, or need.

  • Collaboration: Work as a dedicated team member, sharing effective practices and contributing to the overall ethos of the school.

Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant Undergraduate Degree.
  • Experience teaching in a primary environment across both KS1 and KS2.

  • A deep understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to the well‑being of young people.
