Essential Criteria | Desirable Criteria |
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) | Further professional development or additional qualifications |
Experience of teaching in Key Stage 1 or 2 | Experience of teaching in Key Stage 2 |
Ability to create a happy challenging and effective learning environment | Experience of working with parents and external agencies |
Thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures | Good understanding of teaching the Key Stage 2 curriculum |
Knowledge of effective teaching learning monitoring and assessment in primary | Evidence of further subject or leadership responsibilities |
Effective classroom and behaviour management skills | Experience of subject leadership (e.g. Geography) |
Ability to collaborate within a year group team | Experience of leading trips assemblies or performances |
Welldeveloped interpersonal and communication skills | Familiarity with supporting children with SEND and EAL |
High expectations flexibility and a positive attitude | Confident in using ICT to enhance learning |
Ability to reflect and seek feedback to improve practice | Understanding of wider school improvement strategies |
