Job summary

Horley Infant School, part of Greensandacademytrust, is seeking a dedicated part-time Year 2 teacher for maternity cover starting January 2027. The role is two days per week (Thursday and Friday) with alternate Wednesday afternoons in the Year 2 class, sharing planning and pupil support.

You will join a supportive, child-centred team and may take on temporary subject coordination in R.E or Music. The school encourages visits; closing date 9 October 2026; interviews 2 November 2026.

Qualifications

  • QTS is required.
  • Experience teaching in EYFS / Key Stage 1.
  • Passion for early childhood education.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and organisation.

Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic part-time teacher to join our passionate and committed Year 2 teaching team at Horley Infant School for a maternity cover starting January 2027. The ideal candidate would be someone who loves the fun that working in an infant school brings and someone who will embrace this opportunity to provide consistency and energy to our team. We welcome and encourage candidates to get in touch and visit our school for a cuppa and a natter about the opportunity so we can get to know each other a little better.This is a part-time position working 2 days a week (Thursday & Friday) in a Year 2 class with alternate Wednesday afternoons in school as part of the Year Group’s PPA afternoon. You will work alongside another teacher to deliver high quality education, sharing responsibilities for lesson planning, classroom management, and pupil support.
