This is a brave special school for pupils aged 3-19 years, currently supporting 228 young people. Previous experience working in a special needs setting is not essential. Our aim is to support our learners in making meaningful progress, rooted in a mission to be transformational. We value doing things differently to ensure learners achieve and enjoy life.

The successful candidate will be a professional who recognizes the importance of innovative approaches to ensure learners' success and enjoyment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead curious and effective class teams confidently.
  2. Support your team to work creatively and solution-focused.
  3. Exemplify high teaching standards and promote high expectations.
  4. Provide highly individualized planning, creating new strategies as needed based on learner needs.
  5. Contribute to Annual Review documentation and meetings, impacting the young person's experience and achievements.
  6. Listen to all voices around the learner, incorporating insights into curriculum and support strategies.
  7. Work with your team to raise standards through staff performance management.
  8. Assist in developing and delivering training in teaching and learning.
  9. Collaborate with Curriculum Leaders on curriculum development, planning, recording, reporting, and assessment.
  10. Support the Senior Leadership Team in monitoring and evaluating the quality of education.
  11. Ensure effective communication and safeguarding with staff and families.
  12. Narrate progress and identify areas for further development.
  13. Contribute to the daily organization and running of the school.
  14. Undertake professional duties as delegated by the headteacher.
