Job description

Bulford St Leonard’s Church of England Primary School is looking to appoint an engaging and dedicated Class Teacher to join its friendly team with effect from September 2025. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced teacher, or ECT, who is passionate about supporting all children to prepare for their future.

We are a single form entry primary school, educating children between the ages of 4 and 11 years. Situated in the village of Bulford, Wiltshire, we serve both military and local families and have strong connections with St Leonard’s Church. Supported by our strong Christian ethos, we insist on high standards of behaviour and respectful relationships. Our school is where futures are created and our staff make this a reality by delivering a curriculum based on active learning and real-life, first-hand experiences; helping students prepare for the next stage of their education as well as for their next stage of life. We are part of Acorn Education Trust, which provides exciting opportunities to improve local education and draw on collective experience.

The successful candidate will be able to teach across the Primary age and ability range and will be a team player happy to collaborate and share ideas with other teachers within school. QTS status is essential for the role.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is committed to becoming a truly excellent teacher;
  • Can teach a broad range of engaging and effective lessons that motivate, inspire and improve student attainment;
  • Can plan and deliver lessons and sequences of lessons to the highest standard that ensure real learning takes place and pupils make superior progress;
  • Is able to raise attainment and challenge children to achieve their best;
  • Has a commitment to extra-curricular activities;
  • Is aware of current initiatives in the Primary curriculum;
  • Is an effective team member who can contribute positively to the work in the school;
  • Has a positive, cheerful outlook with a good sense of humour;
  • Is able to forge good relationships with students and staff;
  • Is able to work hard and remain calm under pressure;
  • A desire to work within the Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) structure.

We can offer the successful candidate:

  • An ambitious and vibrant place to work, with enthusiastic children and staff who are passionate about learning;
  • A workplace where everyone feels valued and supported;
  • Opportunities for training and progression;
  • The support of Acorn Education Trust, with excellent opportunities to work with experienced colleagues;
  • A supportive and clearly defined induction procedure.
