Ormiston Kensington Queensmill Academy is currently seeking exceptional Class Teachers to join our dedicated team. Whether you’re an experienced SEN practitioner or an outstanding mainstream teacher eager to specialise, we want to hear from you.

As a Class Teacher, you will lead a small, supportive class to deliver a bespoke, differentiated curriculum tailored to each pupil’s needs. You will help them build skills, confidence and independence through autism-aware approaches and collaborative

Qualifications

  • Experience with autistic pupils.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum and adaptations for SEND.

Ormiston Kensington Queensmill Academy is currently seeking a two exceptional Class Teachers to join our highly skilled and dedicated team. Whether you’re an experienced SEN practitioner or an outstanding mainstream teacher eager to specialise, we want to hear from you.

As a Class Teacher, you will lead a small, supportive class team to deliver a bespoke, engaging, and highly differentiated curriculum tailored to the individual needs and interests of each pupil. You will be central to their learning journey — helping them build skills, confidence, and independence.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (or working towards)
  • Experience working with autistic pupils.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and how to adapt for SEND learners.
  • A genuine passion for working with neurodiverse children and young people.
  • Understanding of autism-specific strategies and emotional regulation practices.

We’d love to hear from you if you have experience in a special school or specialist provision, knowledge of autism-specific approaches such as SCERTS, TEACCH, or Zones of Regulation, or experience supporting colleagues through mentoring. These are desirable rather than essential qualities, and we welcome applications from individuals who bring empathy, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping every pupil thrive.

OKQA is a well-established special school dedicated to teaching children and young people with autism and specific learning difficulties. We are extremely fortunate at to be based in purpose-built facilities designed to deliver a spacious, low-arousal learning environment with excellent autism-specific facilities and resources, allowing us to manage our young people’s needs effectively.
