Job summary

SIG Insulation & Drylining is seeking a Class 2 Driver and Warehouse Operative to join our branch operations. The role focuses on receiving, storing, picking, and loading stock with an emphasis on accuracy and safety, while supporting deliveries and on-site service to customers.

Applicants should have a valid Class 2 licence, CPC, and Digital Tachograph credentials, with Hiab/Moffett certification being a plus. A forklift licence is desirable, and a strong customer-service mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class 2 driving licence and CPC/ Tachograph credentials.
• Certifications for Hiab and Moffett are desirable; training can be provided.
• Experience delivering to multiple locations with accuracy and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Assist with deliveries: unload/load vehicles at the branch.
• Receive and store goods in correct warehouse locations.
• Prepare customer orders and load onto vehicles.
• Sign for deliveries and maintain stock records.
• Maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment.
• Carry out daily vehicle and forklift checks.
• Promote safety culture across the team.
• Be flexible with stocktaking and overtime as required.
• Operate as an HGV driver delivering to customers within the area.

Class 2 Driver/Warehouse Operative

We are looking for a reliable and efficient Class 2 and Warehouse Operative to join our team, helping us maintain our high standards of service, accuracy, and safety.

What's the role?

As a Class 2 Driver and Warehouse Operative you will be a key part of the day-to-day operations of the branch. Your role will focus on ensuring the receiving, storage, picking, and loading of stock is completed efficiently and accurately, contributing to the smooth running of the branch. You will work within a supportive and safety-focused environment, helping our team provide the best possible service to our customers.

What you'll be doing:

• Assisting with deliveries in unloading and loading of vehicles at the branch
• Receive and store goods accurately in the correct locations within the warehouse/yard.
• Prepare customer orders according to sales requirements and load them onto vehicles.
• Sign for deliveries, report stock breakages, and maintain accurate stock records.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.
• Carry out daily checks and maintain forklifts and other mechanical handling equipment in a safe working condition.
• Promote a "Everyone Safe, Every Day," culture by ensuring the safety of yourself and colleagues.
• Be flexible and assist with stocktaking and overtime as required.

• As an HGV Driver, you’ll play a safety-critical role in the daily operation of our branch. You’ll be responsible for:
• Delivering goods safely and on time to customers in your area
• Securing all loads and completing daily vehicle checks
• Maintaining accurate transport documentation and delivery records
• Representing SIG in a friendly, professional manner at all times

What you’ll bring:

• A valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
• Hiab and/or Moffett certification (desirable - SIG can provide training if needed)
• CPC card and Digital Tachograph
• Proven experience in multi-drop delivery
• A strong focus on safety, reliability, and customer service
• A valid Forklift Licence - Desirable
• Good data accuracy, numeracy, and basic IT skills.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Previous experience in a warehouse or yard role is advantageous.
• A flexible and adaptable approach with a can-do attitude.\
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• A customer-oriented mindset and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
