Job summary

SIG Insulation & Drylining is seeking a Yard Warehouse Operative/Van Driver to support branch operations. You will handle receiving, storage, picking and loading of stock to ensure timely deliveries.

The role emphasises safety, teamwork and flexibility, with driving on an as-needed basis. You will work in a supportive environment and contribute to high service standards for customers.

A forklift licence and reliable data accuracy are important; prior warehouse or yard experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Forklift licence validity and safety awareness.
• Good data accuracy, numeracy, and basic IT skills.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Warehouse/yard experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist with deliveries in unloading and loading of vehicles at the branch.
• Receive and store goods accurately in the correct locations within the warehouse/yard.
• Prepare customer orders according to sales requirements and load them onto vehicles.
• Sign for deliveries, report stock breakages, and maintain accurate stock records.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.
• Carry out daily checks and maintain forklifts and other equipment in safe condition.
• Promote a safe culture by ensuring the safety of yourself and colleagues.
• Be flexible and assist with stocktaking and overtime as required.

What’s the role?

As a Yard Warehouse Operative/Van Driver you will be a key part of the day-to-day operations of the branch. Your role will focus on ensuring the receiving, storage, picking, and loading of stock is completed efficiently and accurately, contributing to the smooth running of the branch. You will work within a supportive and safety-focused environment, helping our team provide the best possible service to our customers. The driving element will be on a as and when basis.

What you’ll be doing:

What you’ll bring:

• A valid Forklift Licence
• Good data accuracy, numeracy, and basic IT skills.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Previous experience in a warehouse or yard role is advantageous.
• A flexible and adaptable approach with a can-do attitude.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• A customer-oriented mindset and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
