Job description

Position: Senior Building Control Surveyor

Location: Westminster

Working pattern: in the office and on-site

We are looking for a senior building surveyor who needs to have experience in building control and be-or recently have been a senior building control surveyor.

Responsibilities:
  1. Review plans for a diverse range of construction projects.
  2. Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations.
  3. Provide Building Control advice through various channels (phone, email, in person).
  4. Inspect dangerous structures during regular working hours.
  5. Participate in the out-of-hours dangerous structures rota.
  6. Maintain accurate records of inspections and correspondence.
  7. Support the training of Trainee and Assistant Surveyors.
  8. Assist the Principal Surveyor and Head of Building Control with additional team duties.
Required Skills:
  1. Degree in construction or equivalent qualification, preferably with a Band C Building Control Surveyor Registration (BSR) qualification.
  2. Full corporate membership status with a recognised professional body such as RICS, CABE, or CIOB.
  3. Minimum of seven years' experience in Building Control.
  4. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  5. Eagerness to learn and develop both soft and technical skills.
  6. Strong team player with a sense of responsibility.
