Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting on behalf of a leading UK logistics provider for a Class 2 (C) HGV Tramper Day Driver near Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Role involves HGV Class 2 driving with de-mountable trailers, a mix of single and multi-drop runs, and 3 to 4 nights out per week.

Training will be provided and delivery crews may be used from time to time. Successful candidates will hold a UK Class 2 licence with CPC and Digital Tachograph card, with up to 9 penalty points, and strong knowledge

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 2 (C) licence with CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Maximum of 9 penalty points (minor offences only).
• Minimum 1 year Class 2 driving experience in the UK.
• Good communication and sound knowledge of UK road networks.

Responsibilities

• Drive HGV Class 2 using de-mountable trailers; training provided.
• Perform single and multi-drop runs depending on planning.
• Work 3 to 4 nights out per week.
• Occasionally join a two-person delivery crew; cab-sharing during overnight stays.

Job description

The Best Connection is recruiting on behalf of a leading UK logistics provider for a Class 2 (C) HGV Tramper Day Driver based near Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

Our client delivers tailored logistics solutions for a major kitchen manufacturer supplying kitchen furniture products to approved retail outlets, domestic customers and the construction sector across the UK.

Role Overview

• HGV Class 2 driving using de-mountable trailers (Training will be provided).
• A mixture of single drop runs or multidrop runs dependant on planning.
• 3 to 4 nights out per week
• Opportunities for both single-person and two-person delivery crews.
• Working alongside a porter, with cab-sharing during overnight stays.
• Manual handling required, including the offloading of high-end kitchens.
• CSCS Labourer Card would be advantageous but is not essential.

Pay & Benefits

• £15.60 per hour.
• Night out allowance £ 25.00 per night.
• All breaks are paid.

Requirements

• Valid UK Class 2 (C) licence with CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Maximum of 9 penalty points (minor offences only)
• No DD, DR, CD, or TT99 endorsements
• Minimum 1 year Class 2 driving experience in the UK
• Good communication and sound knowledge of UK road networks

Successful applicants will be required to complete online registration, and undergo an induction process which typically lasts around three days with a Driver Trainer, followed by several days working alongside an experienced Driver Mentor before being signed off.
