Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are recruiting on behalf of our market leading client in Barnsley for experienced Class 2 tipper drivers (working away).

Shifts are Monday to Friday, 06:00 starts. Pay rate is £15.00 per hour PAYE with £25 per night out allowance. You will be away from home with hotel accommodation provided. This temporary to permanent role requires safety‑conscious drivers with a full UK Class 2 licence and valid DCPC.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with Class 2 entitlement (category C).
• 2 years experience on Class 2.
• Minimum 12 months experience on tippers.
• Valid and in‑date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Interview will be required (induction and short driving assessment will take place the same day)
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety‑first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 2 tipper vehicle safely and efficiently.
• Carry out tipper work, including the transportation and tipping of products such as aggregate, topsoil, etc.
• Adhere to all relevant safety regulations and guidelines.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections.
• Ensure timely and efficient completion of assigned routes.
• Will be required to work away from home, with accommodation provided in a paid hotel.
