Driver Hire Torbay is seeking a reliable HGV Class 2 refuse driver for Kingsbridge, Devon. The role blends professional driving with outdoor manual tasks, offering weekday shifts, competitive pay, and potential permanent placement.

Location is Kingsbridge with easy access from nearby towns. Salary is £17.65 per hour PAYE Advance, with other PAYE options available and overtime enhanced. Immediate starts and temp-to-perm opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Essential: Valid Category C (Class 2) driving licence.
• Essential: Valid Driver CPC qualification card.
• Essential: Valid digital tachograph card.
• Essential: No more than 6 penalty points and no DR, DD, or IN endorsements.
• Desirable: Previous refuse collection, recycling, or multi-drop driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Category C (Class 2) refuse and recycling vehicle on planned routes.
• Assist with loading and collection of waste and recycling containers.
• Work with the crew and depot team to complete daily schedules.
• Carry out vehicle walk-around checks before and after shifts.
• Report vehicle defects, incidents, or operational issues promptly.
• Follow all health and safety procedures on road and at collection points.
• Provide a professional and reliable service throughout each shift.
