Job description

Driver Hire Uxbridge is seeking a professional and skilled HGV Class 2 HIAB/Grab Driver to join our client, a leading builders' merchant in Southall UB2. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality service as the company expands.

Salary: £36,250.00 + an extra £1000.00 after 6 months (no absences, accidents, or complaints) + quarterly branch bonuses

Working Hours: 20 days + 5 days at Christmas and bank holidays; Monday to Friday 07:00am to 16:30, and every other Saturday 08:00am to 12:00pm

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operate a HIAB or grab lorry to deliver and collect roofing materials
2. Maintain the vehicle to high safety standards
3. Achieve operational targets and KPIs
4. Provide accurate daily information for effective handovers
5. Ensure a safe and productive workplace complying with legislative and commercial obligations
6. Assist site staff with loading and unloading materials

Ideal Candidate:

1. Valid UK driving licence with Cat C
2. Valid HIAB certification
3. Valid Driver CPC and TACHO
4. At least 2 years’ experience driving a Class 2 vehicle
5. Crane/HIAB knowledge is a plus but not essential
6. Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently
7. Good verbal and written communication skills
8. Customer-focused with a proactive attitude
9. Knowledge or experience of working in the roofing sector is a bonus but not essential
