Smart Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver to join our successful client based in the Abingdon, OX14 area. Our client specializes in Waste Management, transforming waste into valuable resources and lessening its impact on the environment.

Pay rate: £16.95 per hour, weekly pay in arrears, every Friday

Shift pattern: Monday - Friday 6.00 am till 3pm

HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver - Duties & Responsibilities

The right person will be responsible for driving the refuse lorry and assisting loaders with collecting/emptying bins from residential premises, returning them where necessary, and ensuring all additional work and missed bins are completed. We prioritize safety and efficiency in our operations, providing necessary training and PPE to ensure a professional and secure working environment.

The work and conditions can be demanding but will provide a fulfilling and interesting career for the right people.

Minimum Requirements

A minimum of 6 months experience in HGV Class 2 driving is essential.

• Drive and operate a class 2 dust car, refuse lorry, or bin lorry
• Perform daily walk-around vehicle checks
• Collect refuse from a different local area each day of the week
• Assist with manually moving domestic wheelie bins
• Work as part of a small team

HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver - Person Specification

• UK HGV Class 2 driving license (minimum 6 months)
• Digital tachograph card & CPC card
• Good team working skills and good communication skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
• Previous experience within a waste & recycling industrial environment would be an advantage.
