A logistics company in Folkestone is looking for a Class 2 HGV Driver to join their team. In this full-time permanent position, you will drive a rigid flat-bed lorry with a HiAb crane, ensuring the safe delivery of structural steel components to construction sites across south east England. The role offers a competitive hourly rate of £14.00 - £19.00 and provides opportunities for training and development within a supportive environment.
As a Class 2 HGV Driver at Cook Fabrications, you’ll be a key member of our logistics team, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of structural steel components to construction sites across Kent, Sussex, and London.
This is a full-time permanent role, with varied start and finish times depending on delivery destinations. Some weekend working may be required.
About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled driver to operate our 18 Tonne Rigid Flat Bed Lorry with a mounted HiAb crane. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining our excellent reputation for delivering high-quality products on time and in perfect condition.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate an 18T rigid flat-bed lorry with HiAb crane (training can be provided)
Load, transport, and unload fabricated steelwork to designated sites; including lifitng structrual steel into postion with lorry mounted HiAb.
Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and ensure vehicle is maintained in good condition
Liaise with site teams and ensure professional delivery and customer service
Comply with UK driving laws, company procedures, and health & safety regulations
Requirements:
Valid Class C (Class 2) HGV licence
Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph card
HiAb/Crane certificate desirable (training can be provided if needed)
Previous experience in structural steelwork delivery is preferred but not essential
Strong work ethic, punctuality, and excellent communication skills
Willingness to work occasional weekends
