A leading logistics company is seeking Class 2 Drivers to join their team in Portbury, Bristol. The role involves driving curtain side vehicles, making multiple deliveries per day, and ensuring safety and compliance with legislative requirements. Wincanton are offering the opportunity for Class 2 Drivers to join a delivery team in Portbury, Bristol. Driving a curtain side vehicle delivering to Howden depots with forklift unload, ensuring the loads are secured correctly and that the goods are delivered on time, offloaded in the correct manner, paperwork is signed, and any agreed assets are collected.
Basic Salary-£38,719.80 per annum
How will you contribute?
·You will be responsible for the accurate and timely movement and delivery of our customers’ products,
·Between 6 – 10 deliveries per day on average
·Ensuring all documentation is completed accurately with attention to detail.
·Adhering to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times.
·Complying with all relevant legislation in line with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive requirements (opt out available).
·Responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and others, completion of dynamic risk assessments, adhering to safe working practices and the Health & Safety at Work Act, including accident, incident and damage reporting.
·To ensure contractual KPI’s over delivery of product is undertaken in both a legally compliant and health and safety manner.
·Attending any relevant training as required to ensure you remain fully equipped to perform your role effectively and to assist in the development of continuous improvement.
·Keep the vehicle you use clean, tidy and well cared for, so it is ready to be used the next day
What will you bring?
·Must have valid in date Class 2 licence
·Class 1 licence is advantageous
·Must have valid in date CPC
·Must hold Digital tachograph card
·Must not have more than 6 points on licence
·Ideally have minimum 6 months driving experience, however newly qualified drivers will be considered
·Possess excellent customer facing awareness skills
·Good timekeeper and able to work unsupervised
·Must be fully flexible on working hours
·Must have a good geographical knowledge
·Enthusiastic and reliable with a commitment to delivering 1st class customer service
·Must have good communication skills and a flexible can-do attitude to work
