Job Description:

Blue Arrow Bristol is recruiting Class 2 drivers to work for one of the UK's leading retailers at their depot in Avonmouth, Bristol. The roles are temp to perm; after 12 weeks, you will be offered a permanent contract. The client welcomes newly qualified drivers, providing a great opportunity to gain experience and develop your career.

All drivers must pass a drug and alcohol test (and be willing to be re-tested), and undergo a Disclosure Scotland (DBS) clearance. The company enforces a strict anti-drugs and alcohol policy, conducting random tests daily.

Start times are between 4am-6am, with an average of 50 hours per week. The position is Monday to Friday only, with no weekend work.

The pay rate is £17.00 per hour, with an annual salary of approximately £42,432 plus overtime and quarterly bonuses once permanent.

The role is physically demanding; 60% of the day involves loading and unloading, with a driver’s mate present at all times.

Responsibilities include:

• Completing up to 5 deliveries daily
• Manual loading and unloading (training provided)
• Filling out relevant paperwork
• Using PODs

Candidate requirements:

• Category C driving licence, up-to-date CPC and Digi Tacho cards
• No more than 6 points on your driving licence for minor offences
• Physical fitness
• Reliability and trustworthiness
• Good customer service skills and a professional attitude
• Proficiency in spoken English

All drivers must pass a driving assessment (theory and practical), as well as a drug & alcohol test, and complete a one-week training session focusing on manual handling and safe lifting practices before starting.
