Class 2 Driver – Workwear Solutions: West Brom and surrounding areas – Permanent: £34-37k on 40/45hr week + Bonuses, 20 days hols + BH’s rising to 25 in service – Pension – uniform provided.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Class 2 Driver of Workwear Solutions to deliver service excellence through an efficient and cost-effective logistics department.

The Business:

A specialist in workwear solutions who pride themselves on quality customer service and focusing on environmental improvements for them and their customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To comply with the road transport legislation.
  • To be the company’s “Service Ambassador” with our customers.
  • To deliver and collect work to and from the branch and our customers.
  • To accurately record each customer delivery and collection via PDA device or route manifest.
  • To ensure the security and safety of any vehicle or property or customer property.
  • To ensure the safety of any third party while you are in control of a vehicle.
  • To comply and adhere to any reasonable operating conditions existing on customers’ premises.
  • To know and understand the scheduled delivery routes that you have been allocated.
  • To load and unload cages from vehicles that contain both clean and soiled linen including hamper bags.
  • To wear the correct and clean uniform as appropriate.
  • To ensure that all contact with our customers is honest, polite and helpful at all times.
  • To execute daily and weekly vehicle checks and cleaning routines.
  • To record and report customer queries using the current and correct documentation.
  • Undertake other duties when instructed by the Transport/Operations Manager/Supervisor.
  • To comply with driving performance systems.
  • Attend daily driver debrief sessions and update on any customer changes or opportunities.

Your Skills and Abilities:

  • Up to date Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
  • No more than 6 points on driving licence. Class 2 license required.
  • Highly customer focused and good attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to make decisions and problem solve.
  • Flexible and able to react quickly to the needs of the customer.
  • PC literacy for emails, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Well spoken; clarity of speech, friendliness of tone, articulate.
  • Patient, polite and courteous.

Salary, Benefits and Hours:

Starting rate £34-37k on circa 40-45 hr week + uniform, Pension, 20 days leave plus bank holidays. Rises to 25 days with service. Monday to Friday, 8hr days, flex start/finish dependent on client needs.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Understanding of current commercial transport legislation.
  • Experience of working in a professional logistics department.
  • Digital tachograph and Class 2 driving license required.
