Job description

Driver Hire Newcastle & Sunderland is looking to recruit a Cat C (Class 2) driver for one of our clients in Northumberland. This role is on a temp-to-perm basis for the right candidate.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include delivering and collecting plant and materials, which could involve beavertail, tipper, or van/pickup vehicles. You will also be responsible for maintaining and cleaning your own van, loading and unloading plant and materials, and providing general assistance around the yard. This position offers the security of a full-time role within a friendly, hardworking team.

Preferred but not essential:

• Experience with plant loading and strapping
• Experience with counterbalance forklift

Requirements for the role:

• Category C/Class 2 entitlement on the driving licence
• Valid CPC Licence
• Valid Digital Tachograph Licence

Rates of pay start from £13.87 per hour (PAYE). An enhanced rate is available for overtime after 8 hours.

Once permanent, any work after 8 hours will be paid at time and a half; after 12 hours, double time. Saturday mornings are paid at time and a half; Saturday afternoons and Sundays are double time. There is also an option to be on alarm call-outs, which includes a company van.
