Job Location and Purpose

Based at our Barrett Engineering Steel, Willenhall site, the purpose of this role is to carry out multi-drop driving and related duties involved with the safe carriage of goods. The basic hours are 45 per week, Monday to Friday, with start and finish times varying. The role may require essential overtime and nights away when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the safe unloading of vehicles at customer premises.
• Work mobile equipment to load and unload vehicles, as required and appropriately trained.
• Ensure Proofs of Delivery are signed and returned promptly.
• Check load security and weight distribution according to safe working practices at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Maintain delivery vehicles to company standards, reporting any defects.
• Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure safety and proper operation.
• Uphold health and safety standards at all sites, on the road, and at customer premises.
• Update documentation related to the carriage of products accurately.
• Maintain communication with the depot and report issues throughout the day.
• Provide high-quality customer service as an ambassador.
• Willingness to work nights away when required.
