Gregory Distribution Ltd. is seeking a Class 2 Driver based in Southampton. You will deliver bakery products to retail outlets and engage with customers to ensure smooth deliveries.

The role requires a valid UK Class 2 licence, DCPC, and Tachograph cards, with flexibility for start times and a 25-week rolling rota. Competitive salary (£39,353–£42,636 per year) with an extra £7.50 per night shift for shifts 21:00–04:00.

Responsibilities

• Operate a rigid vehicle with tail lift to deliver bakery products across the South of England.
• Provide high level of customer service at delivery points.
• Adapt to early start times and safely operate tail‑lift equipment.
• Load, secure, and transport goods using straps and load restraints.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and report issues.
• Maintain communication with transport team and participate in training.

Shift: 48 hour week, based on a 25-week rolling contract.

About the Role

As a Class 2 Driver, you will:

• Operate a rigid vehicle equipped with a tail lift to deliver bakery products to a range of retail outlets, wholesale and convenience stores across the South of England.
• Provide a high level of customer service at delivery points, engaging directly with customers to ensure delivery requirements are met and expectations are managed effectively.
• Demonstrate flexibility to accommodate early start times, safely operate tail‑lift equipment, and carry out manual handling of bread deliveries in line with safe working practices.
• Ensure all goods are loaded, secured, and transported correctly to prevent movement or damage, using straps, load restraint bars, and other securing equipment as required.
• Conduct comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using the company‑issued mobile device, ensuring vehicle safety, compliance, and reliability at all times.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport team, providing timely updates on progress to support efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
• Participate fully in regular training sessions to remain up to date with industry standards, compliance requirements, and best‑practice procedures.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
