Job summary

Booker is seeking drivers to join the local delivery team in Greater London. You will work 45 hours per week on an Any 5 from 7 contract, with weekend shifts and overtime opportunities, earning up to £45,600 per year.

Fully funded CPC training is provided. You'll drive a Class 2 vehicle, make multi-drop deliveries to regular customers, and maintain a smart, professional appearance while delivering great service.

Qualifications

• Class 2 driving experience with multi-drop preferred.
• Positive, professional appearance at all times.
• Ability to work weekends on a 5-from-7 schedule.
• Knowledge of safe use of delivery equipment and vehicle policy.
• Strong customer service and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a smart and professional personal appearance, role modelling ‘The Face of Booker’.
• Safely drive a clean and presentable vehicle, inside and out.
• Use delivery equipment such as cages, bars and straps safely.
• Know the vehicle defect policy and monitor vehicle condition.
• Assess H&S risks during deliveries for safe, timely arrivals.
• Load/unload safely and adhere to company policies.
• Work in line with GDPR guidelines at all times.
• Lead by example and uphold Booker values.
• Support branch functions when not on the road.

You will be responsible for

• The safe and careful use of delivery equipment such as cages, bars, straps, tail lift etc.
• Knowledge of vehicle defects and the vehicle defect policy.
• Assessing H&S risks at all times whilst on deliveries, ensuring a safe, accurate and timely delivery every time.
• Safe loading and unloading the vehicle at customer premises.Ensuring that company policies and processes are adhered to.
• Working in line with GDPR guidelines at all times.
• Leading by example and living the Booker Code of Business Conduct and Win Together behaviours.
• Supporting branch function whilst not on the road, such as keeping the vehicle clean, picking, wrapping and loading.

You will need

• Class 2 vehicle knowledge.
• Understanding of the safe use of delivery equipment.
• Knowledge of the vehicle defect policy.
• Previous use of PDApreferable.
• Resilience.
• A positive outlook with great customer service skills.
• The ability to work under pressure.
• Previous Class 2 experience, multi drop preferred.
