Job summary

Interaction Recruitment are seeking a Class 2 driver for ongoing Monday to Friday work in Irlam. You will ensure safe load handling, multi-drop deliveries and accurate paperwork, while following the company’s safety policies and rules.

Role requires a valid LGV C (HGV 2) licence, CPC card, ADR credentials, and a strong focus on customer service and safety. Overtime flexibility and a proactive attitude are valued.

Qualifications

  • LGV C (HGV 2) licence is required.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Driver's CPC card is required.
  • ADR with Core and Packages and UN Class 2.
  • FLT licence an advantage.
  • Experience of multi-drop deliveries and knowledge of local/regional areas.
  • Good health and fitness; willing to undergo company medical if required.
  • Disclose of any unspent conviction.
  • First aid or health & safety qualification is an advantage.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience is an advantage.
  • Good numeracy and literacy; knowledge of health and safety requirements.
  • Flexible with overtime with a Can Do attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload deliveries while following safety rules.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and carry out daily checks.
  • Keep logs of driving hours and tachograph records.
  • Handle cash/cheques for cash sale deliveries when required.
  • Comply with ADR and transport regulations; operate loading equipment safely.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Obtain receipts/signatures and route delivery instructions as required.

Interaction Recruitment are looking for a Class 2 driver for ongoing work (Monday to Friday) for our established client based in Irlam.

Job Summary
  • To abide by the current Safety, Health and Environment policy giving priority to the safety of staff, customers and members of the public at all times.
  • Be responsible for load security at all times.
  • Must abide by the Company's 12 Life Saving Rules.
  • Be responsible for effecting an efficient and satisfactory multi-drop delivery service to customers of the Company. For the avoidance of doubt, 'customers', also includes other company departments/depots.
  • Be responsible for the safe handling of cash and cheques with regard to Cash Sale deliveries and account settlements.
  • Be responsible for operating the company's ISO 9000 Quality Assurance System to the satisfaction of the Department and Quality Manager in so far as they apply to his duties.
  • Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required as defined by the company policy.
  • Ensure that the vehicles under control is kept secure at all times.
  • Ensure that all Company policies that apply to his/her position are carried out in as business like and efficient manner and to ensure that any necessary paperwork is completed on a daily basis (Advice Notes, Load Sheets, Tachograph charts, Fuel Mileage and daily check sheets).
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of any vehicle, which may be allocated and to carry out daily Company and Statutory checks that may be required. Record these on company issued Daily Check Sheet.
  • Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order (in line with ADR).
  • Comply with traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures under ADR.
  • Manoeuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment (e.g. Manitou/FLT) are properly positioned.
  • Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
  • Maintain logs of working hours following applicable regulations in relation to Driver Hours (WTD) / Digital Tachographs.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, incidents and traffic violations, or any damage to the vehicles or customers/public property.
  • Willingly participate in suitable training provided by the Company which will include manual handling training of cylinders and packaged gases.
  • The above duties may involve having access to information of a confidential nature. Confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Minimum LGV C (HGV 2).
  • Full, Clean Driving Licence.
