Job summary

Crane Building Services and Utilities (BS&U) in Hitchin is seeking an experienced Class 1 Welder to join our Water manufacturing team. You will perform MAG welding of mild steel, read engineering drawings, set up fabrication machinery, and ensure high quality and safety.

Candidates with BS EN ISO 9606-1:2017 Class 1, MAG welding experience, and knowledge of welding procedures will thrive. We offer a competitive salary, enhanced TIG rates for stainless work, and clear opportunities for training

Qualifications

• BS EN ISO 9606-1 Class 1 qualification is essential.
• Proven MAG welding experience on mild steel in fabrication environments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specs.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MAG welding of mild steel components to approved procedures.
• Perform fabrication and assembly according to drawings and specs.
• Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery.
• Inspect welds and assemblies for compliance with requirements.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality, and productivity.
• Follow health, safety and environmental procedures.
