Job summary

Consult2Recruit is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Night Trunk Driver for a Newhaven operation in East Sussex. The role runs Monday to Friday, 18:30–06:30, with approximately 60 hours per week and a permanent salary of £42,000 per year.

The position involves trunking between Newhaven and Burton upon Trent, loading and unloading double-decker trailers, and completing all relevant checks and paperwork while maintaining safety and on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Max 6 points on licence.
• 12 months C+E experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of drivers' hours and working time regulations.
• Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach.
• Comfortable working regular night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Start at the Newhaven depot and drive to Burton upon Trent.
• Unloading a double-decker trailer and loading the vehicle.
• Returning to Newhaven and completing all vehicle and paperwork checks.
• Ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely and on time.
• Operate a regular trunking route between Newhaven and Burton upon Trent.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Night Trunk Driver to join our client's operation in Newhaven.

The Role

This is a regular Monday to Friday night trunking role, operating between Newhaven and Burton upon Trent.

Your typical duties will include:

• Starting at the Newhaven depot
• Driving to Burton upon Trent
• Unloading a double-decker trailer
• Loading the vehicle
• Returning back to Newhaven
• Completing all relevant vehicle and paperwork checks
• Ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely and on time

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Maximum 6 points on your licence
• 12 months' minimum C+E experience preferred
