Job summary

Pertemps Kettering in Northampton is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver (C+E) to join our team for reliable, long-term work delivering palletised goods to major retail stores across the region, with routes as far as Lowestoft.

We offer days and weekend shifts with guaranteed 8 hours pay per shift, overtime rate, and weekend premiums. You will perform multi-drop deliveries, use tail lifts, and provide professional customer service.

Qualifications

• Hold UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence with valid CPC (DQC).
• Digital Tachograph Card required.
• No DD or DR convictions.

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver (C+E) looking for reliable work, excellent rates of pay, and long-term opportunities?

We're recruiting professional drivers based in Northampton to deliver palletised goods to major retail stores across the region, with routes reaching as far as Lowestoft.

Pay & Rewards

• £18.52 per hour (Days)
• £27.78 per hour Overtime
• Minimum 8 hours pay guaranteed every shift
• Overtime paid after 8 rate
• Weekend shifts rate for drivers working 3+ days per week
• Annual pay reviews

The Role

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you'll be responsible for:

• Multi-drop deliveries of palletised goods
• Up to 8 store deliveries per shift
• Using a tail lift to unload deliveries
• Placing pallets safely in designated delivery zones
• Providing a professional and customer-focused service

Shifts Available

We operate 7 days per week and have a range of shift patterns available.

• Priority will be given to drivers who can work at least one weekend day.

What We're Looking For

To be considered, you'll need:

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
• Valid Driver CPC (DQC)
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Minimum 2 years Class 1 experience (or 1 year retail delivery experience)
• No DD or DR convictions
• Ability to complete:
  • 1-day driving assessment
  • 2-day paid induction
