Job summary

Unipart is seeking a qualified HGV Class 1 Driver to deliver products from East Midlands Gateway (DE74 2BB) to sites across the region. The role requires 45 hours per week (Mon-Fri), a focus on timely and safe deliveries, and excellent customer service.

You will perform pre/post-trip inspections, unload and secure loads, maintain accurate paperwork, and drive within tachograph regulations. A valid UK driving licence, Tachograph card, and Driver CPC are essential.

Qualifications

• UK full valid driving license.
• HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• Digital Tachograph knowledge and working understanding of how to use it.
• Driver CPC holder.
• Must be able to provide good customer service and build relationships with customers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre- and post-use inspections of vehicles.
• Unload the vehicle and secure products and returns.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Drive safely in accordance with the law, tachograph regulations and driver hour limits.
• Ensure all paperwork is filled in, signed and dated where applicable.
• Maintain the driving cab and follow the company defect procedure.

Salary and Benefits

Salary: £39,967 plus 30 days holiday (including bank holidays), pension, life assurance, employee assistance programme, wellbeing support, and flexible benefits including cycle to work scheme

About the Role

You will be delivering products to sites in a timely and safe manner. Giving our customers a great delivery experience, you will follow customer procedures, respond appropriately to any enquiries, and elevate any delivery concerns via regular contact with your site-based team. You will ensure that your vehicle is kept in an appropriate condition and will complete routine vehicle checks both before and after your journey reporting any defects.

As part of your key responsibilities, you'll:

• Conduct pre and post-use inspections of vehicles.
• Unload the vehicle, ensuring the products and returns are loaded safely and secured to minimise damage.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law, including driving within tachograph regulations and driver hour limits.
• Ensure all paperwork is filled in correctly, signed, and dated where applicable.
• Look after the vehicle, maintaining the cleanliness of the driving cab, and follow the company defect procedure.

About You
