Job summary

XPO operates a Driver Training Programme at Widnes to help newly qualified Class 1 drivers. You’ll be employed from day one and gain hands-on experience under expert mentors, building the skills required to become a fully qualified Class 1 driver on the Tesco contract.

During training you’ll earn £15.00 per hour. After qualification, you’ll move to professional driver rates of £17.56 to £21.47 per hour, with benefits like pension, holiday pay, and flexible shifts across a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid C+E (Class 1) licence.
• No more than 6 penalty points.
• No DD, DR or IN endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Complete the XPO Driver Training Programme with support from experienced drivers.
• Learn vehicle manoeuvring, load securing, and driver paperwork.
• Progress to a permanent driving role on Tesco contract at Widnes site.
