Job summary

Drivers Direct is recruiting a HGV Class 1 Night Driver in Swindon. Night shifts run Monday to Friday from 17:00 to 05:00, at £19.00 per hour. Role involves driving HGV Class 1 vehicles, pallet/cage deliveries, trunking between depots.

Responsibilities include pre-shift safety checks, safe and professional delivery/collection, and completing paperwork. Valid HGV1/Ce license, CPC, and tachograph card required; 6 months experience preferred, with insurance restrictions on points.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid HGV 1 / Cat CE license.
• Must hold a valid CPC driver qualification.
• Must hold a valid Digital tachograph card.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report issues.
• Ensure deliveries and collections follow procedures.
• Deliver and collect to customers safely and professionally.
• Complete all shift paperwork before handover.

DDR are looking to recruit a HGV Class 1 Night Driver on behalf of our client to join their team in Swindon

Hours of work:

• Night Shifts
• Monday to Friday
• Start time 17:00 Finish at 05:00

Salary:

• £19.00 per hour.

The Role:

• Driving a HGV Class 1 Vehicles
• Delivering on pallets and cages
• Delivering to businesses, and other depots (Trunking)

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Carrying out relevant daily vehicle safety checks and reporting as per Operational Procedures.
• Ensure all delivery and collections are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
• To deliver & collect to customers in a safe and professional manner.
• To complete all work related paperwork in full and hand in at the end of the shift.

Essential Skills:

• Must hold a valid HGV 1 / Cat CE license.
• Must hold a valid driver qualification (CPC) card.
• Must hold a valid Digital taco card.
• Must have a minimum of 6 months experience
• Good communication skills.
• Good customer relations.
• Have a safe driving record.
• No more than 6 minor penalty points due to insurance stipulations.
• No DRs, INs or DDs offence codes due to insurance stipulations.
