Job summary
Barrett Steel Limited, the UK’s largest steel stockholder, is looking for a multi-drop Delivery Driver to join our team. You will oversee unloading at customer premises, ensure proofs of delivery are signed, and monitor load security and weight distribution at each shift. You'll keep delivery vehicles in good order, report defects, perform daily safety checks, and uphold all health and safety standards on site, on the road and at customer premises. A strong customer-facing attitude is essential.
Qualifications
HGV Class 1 Licence with up to 6 points.
Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph card required.
Knowledge of Working Time Directive.
Experience in warehousing or distribution, ideally multi-drop.
Understanding and experience of EHS requirements.
Ability to stay away as required by job.
Responsibilities
Oversee the safe unloading of vehicles at customer premises.
Ensure Proofs of Delivery are signed and returned promptly.
Check load security and weight distribution at shift start/end.
Ensure delivery vehicles are maintained; report defects.
Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and operate safely.
Uphold all health and safety standards on site, on the road and at customer premises.
Be an ambassador for high quality customer service.
