Job summary

GXO is seeking a Class 1 Driver in the United Kingdom to join our team. You will deliver goods to GXO depots with start times from 4:00am, typically Monday to Friday but on a 5 days out of 7 basis, averaging 48 hours per week across 9.6-hour shifts.

The role is full-time and permanent with a salary of £36,968.9 per year. Responsibilities include safe, legal operation of HGVs, vehicle checks, loading/unloading as needed, and maintaining accurate delivery paperwork.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full EU licence with category C+E entitlement.
• A valid Driver Qualification Card (Driver CPC).
• Must hold Digital tachograph card.
• No more than 6 current penalty points on licence.
• No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD.AC, LC or TT99 endorsements with a conviction date within the previous 5 years.
• Strong communication skills, particularly verbal, to develop good working relationships with colleagues and customers.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work on your initiative.

Responsibilities

• Carry out deliveries to various GXO depots.
• Routes can vary depending on start time.
• Maybe involved in loading and unloading the vehicle/trailer.
• Manual Handling.
• Communicate effectively with the transport office regarding any delays, issues, or changes during journeys and that all delivery paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
• Guarantee the safe and legal operation of HGV vehicles at all times, complete safety checks before leaving site and on return to site.
