Job summary

Direct Recruitment (Midlands) Ltd is seeking a reliable Class 1 (C+E) HGV Driver for trunking between distribution centres and warehouses. Minimal manual handling and no multi-drop deliveries are involved.

The role involves trunking on scheduled routes, vehicle checks, load security, and completing paperwork with electronic POD systems where required. A modern, well-maintained fleet and weekly pay are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good understanding of drivers' hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
• A professional attitude with a strong commitment to safety.
• Previous trunking experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Driving Class 1 (C+E) vehicles on scheduled trunking routes.
• Transporting palletised goods between warehouses and distribution centres.
• Completing vehicle checks and ensuring loads are secure.
• Following all road transport legislation and company procedures.
• Completing delivery paperwork and using electronic POD systems where required.
• Providing a safe, reliable, and professional service.
