Job summary

ARR Craib Transport Ltd. is seeking a Class 1 Driver to cover day and night shifts across the Aberdeen area. You will perform multi-drop deliveries and collections, operate tail-lift equipment, and ensure loads are secured and checked for safety.

Regular training, weekend cover as needed, and a strong focus on customer service are part of the role. Applicants must have UK working rights, a valid CE licence, DCPC, tachograph card, and counterbalance licence where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card required.
• Digital Tachograph Driver Card required.
• Current Counterbalance licence desired.

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of trailers including refrigerated units with tail lifts, curtain sider and flatbed for multi-drop deliveries across Aberdeen and surrounding area.
• Deliver milk cages to retail stores and return empties.
• Handle loading and securing with straps and nets to prevent movement.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and maintain vehicle reliability.
• Communicate with transport team to update progress and meet customer expectations.

Job description

As a Class 1 Driver, you will: Use a range of trailers including refrigerated units with tail lifts, curtain sider, and flatbed to carry out multi drop deliveries and collections across the local area. This includes delivering milk cages to retail stores and returning empties in the Aberdeen area, delivering bakery products to retail, wholesale, and convenience outlets across Aberdeen (involving tail-lift operation and manual handling), and delivering and collecting bulk materials such as scrap metals, as well as oil and gas equipment. Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed. Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability. Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met. Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices. This is a permanent full time position to cover holiday and sickness. Therefore, a flexible approach is required as the position will involve covering both day and night work, including weekends as and when required. Eligibility: Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK with no restrictions. Proof of Right to Work will be required at the interview stage.

• Competitive Salary: £14.29ph PLUS for all hours worked between 21:00hrs & 04:00hrs, you will receive an additional £2.75 per hour.
• Shift Hours: Days start between 02:30hrs - 07:00hrs, Nights start between 16:00hrs - 18:00hrs.
• Overtime: Saturdays and Sundays are £17.04 per hour PLUS for all hours worked between 21:00hrs & 04:00hrs, you will receive an additional £2.75 per hour.
