Job summary

ARR Craib Transport Ltd. is seeking a Class 1 Driver to operate a mixed fleet across the local area, including Aberdeen routes. You will load, secure, and deliver to retail, wholesale and convenience outlets, using tail lifts where needed and performing daily safety checks.

The role requires a UK Class 1 CE licence, DCPC and Tachograph cards, and a proactive, customer‑focused approach. Flexible day/night shifts, weekends, and holidays are expected.

Responsibilities

• Use a range of trailers including refrigerated units with tail lifts, curtain sider, and flatbed to carry out multi drop deliveries and collections across the local area.
• Deliver milk cages to retail stores and return empties in the Aberdeen area, delivering bakery products to retail, wholesale, and convenience outlets across Aberdeen.
• Load and secure goods, perform daily vehicle safety checks, stay in contact with the transport team, and participate in training.

Job description

As a Class 1 Driver, you will: Use a range of trailers including refrigerated units with tail lifts, curtain sider, and flatbed to carry out multi drop deliveries and collections across the local area. This includes delivering milk cages to retail stores and returning empties in the Aberdeen area, delivering bakery products to retail, wholesale, and convenience outlets across Aberdeen (involving tail-lift operation and manual handling), and delivering and collecting bulk materials such as scrap metals, as well as oil and gas equipment. Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed. Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability. Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met. Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices. This is a permanent full time position to cover holiday and sickness. Therefore, a flexible approach is required as the position will involve covering both day and night work, including weekends as and when required. Eligibility: Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK with no restrictions. Proof of Right to Work will be required at the interview stage.

• Competitive Salary: £14.29ph PLUS for all hours worked between 21:00hrs & 04:00hrs, you will receive an additional £2.75 per hour.
• Shift Hours: Days start between 02:30hrs - 07:00hrs, Nights start between 16:00hrs - 18:00hrs.
• Overtime: Saturdays and Sundays are £17.04 per hour PLUS for all hours worked between 21:00hrs & 04:00hrs, you will receive an additional £2.75 per hour.
