Job summary

GXO Redditch is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to support our Halfords contract. You will perform multidrop deliveries, nights out, and stay away from home when required.

Join a busy transport team with a 48-hour week, and start windows between 02:00 and 04:00. GXO offers extensive training opportunities and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with C+E entitlement and up-to-date Driver Qualification Card.
• Previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles is essential.
• No more than 6 current penalty points and no disqualifying endorsements.
• Willingness to complete regular nights and stay away from home as required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out multidrop deliveries, up to 6 drops per shift, with returns from stores.
• Handle palletised goods and cages, ensuring safe loading/unloading.
• Maintain clear communication with the Depot Transport Office and provide excellent customer service.
• Operate company vehicles legally and ensure documents are completed accurately.

Here at GXO Redditch we are looking for HGV Class 1 Driver to join our transport team, supporting our customer Halfords. You’ll play a key part in keeping the supply chain flowing smoothly in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, on an ‘any 5 days form 7’ pattern, with start time window of 02:00 to 04:00, contracted to 48 hours per week.

Please note, this role requires regular nights out and the successful candidate will be expected to stay away from home when required as part of the role.

What you will do on a typical day:

• Carry out multidrop deliveries, typically averaging up to 6 drops per shift, while collecting returns from stores in line with operational requirements
• Handle both palletised goods and cages, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading procedures
• Maintain clear communication with the Depot Transport Office regarding any issues and deliver exemplary customer service by being polite and courteous at all times
• Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner while ensuring required documents are completed accurately and on time

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles is essential
• Full UK driving licence with category C+E entitlement
• Valid Driver Qualification and Digital Tachograph Cards
• No more than 6 current penalty points
• No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements
• Willingness to complete regular nights out and stay away from home as required by the role
