Manual Class 1 Driver

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manual Class 1 HGV driver looking for temporary work. The role offers competitive pay and the chance to work for a leading logistics company.

A minimum of 1 year Class 1 HGV driving experience is essential for this role.

Please note, the client's Class 1 vehicle is manual drive, with 12 speed split gears. We require previous experience driving this!

Job Title: Class 1 HGV Driver

Rate of Pay:

• Weekday rate: £17.65 per hour (including holiday pay) - £15.75 per hour (PAYE)

Type of Role: Ongoing

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday + Overtime
• Start times: 5am - 1pm
• Possibility of nights out
• You will be paid for a Minimum of 8 hours + any overtime

Full Description of the Role

We are looking for Manual Transmission Class 1 HGV drivers for general haulage work.

• You will be responsible for customer deliveries, light handballing involved with foam materials.
• To perform vigilant pre-start vehicle and trailer checks and to report all defects.
• Ensure all aspects of EC Drivers' hours, Tachograph and Working Time regulations are adhered and satisfied to.
• Adhere to all internal Health and Safety procedures and submit near miss reports accordingly.
• Ensure loads are secured and trailers are coupled correctly.
• Ensure all daily duties, including paperwork, are completed with accuracy and vigilance, and to report to the Transport Office and immediate issues.
• Champion Road Risk and Safety at all times.

Skills / Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year Class 1 HGV (Cat C+E) driving experience is essential.
• Previous Cat C+E driving experience with Manual Transmission is essential.
• A positive attitude to work is more important than additional experience.
