Job summary

GXO Coventry is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our transport team, supporting Halfords and ensuring a smooth supply chain.

You will work full-time on a permanent basis, following an Any 5 days from 7 pattern with start times between 02:00 and 04:00, contracted to 48 hours per week. The role includes multi-drop deliveries and safe loading/unloading.

Qualifications

• Experience driving HGV Class 1 essential.
• Full UK driving licence with C+E entitlement.
• No more than 6 penalty points and no DR/DG/DD/BA/CD/AC/TT99 endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out multidrop deliveries, typically up to 6 drops per shift, and collect returns.
• Handle palletised goods and cages, ensuring safe loading and unloading.
• Maintain clear communication with Depot Transport Office and provide excellent customer service.
• Operate GXO vehicles safely, legally, and ensure documents are completed accurately and on time.

You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, on an ‘Any 5 days from7’ pattern, with start time window of 02:00 to 04:00, contracted to 48 hours per week.

What you will do on a typical day:

• Carry out multidrop deliveries, typically averaging up to 6 drops per shift, while collecting returns from stores in line with operational requirements
• Handle both palletised goods and cages, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading procedures
• Maintain clear communication with the Depot Transport Office regarding any issues and deliver exemplary customer service by being polite and courteous at all times
• Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner while ensuring required documents are completed accurately and on time

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles is essential
• Full UK driving licence with category C+E entitlement
• Valid Driver Qualification and Digital Tachograph Cards
• No more than 6 current penalty points
• No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements
