Job summary

Pertemps Gloucester is recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver for a base in Abergavenny. This role offers regular ongoing weekday work with starts between 05:00 and 07:00 and £17.00–£19.05 per hour.

You will handle scheduled deliveries, operate flatbed trailers, and secure loads while maintaining Driver Hours compliance. Ideal candidates have at least 6 months Class 1 experience, CPC and Tachograph Card, and a professional, safety-focused approach with excellent time management.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Licence.
• Valid CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• Previous flatbed experience desirable.
• Confident strapping and securing loads.
• Good understanding of Driver Hours regulations.
• Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach.
• Excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Driving HGV Class 1 vehicles on scheduled deliveries and collections.
• Operating flatbed trailers safely and efficiently.
• Strapping and unstrapping loads to ensure safe transportation.
• Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting defects.
• Completing delivery paperwork accurately.

HGV Class 1 Driver wanted in Abergavenny, paying £17.00- £19.05per hour to work Monday to Friday with starts between 05:00-07:00.
