Job description

Driver Hire Southampton is currently recruiting for a reliable and experienced Class 1 Driver. In this role, you'll be responsible for transporting timber products to various locations, ensuring deliveries are made efficiently, safely, and on time.

About The Role

• Contract Length: 6-month contract with potential for a permanent position based on performance.
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday (no weekends). Flexibility to work between 1-5 days per week, depending on client needs.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Transporting timber products to locations across the South Coast and Midlands.
• Driving a Class 1 curtainsider.
• Collecting timber from docks or timber production warehouses.
• Deliveries where goods are forklifted off at the destination.
• Ensuring safe and timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of service.
  

What We're Looking For

• Full UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
• Valid CPC and Digi Tacho card.
• Minimum 1-year experience driving a Class 1 vehicle.
• Previous experience in timber transport or similar roles is beneficial.
• Experience with strapping and securing loads.
• Own transport for commuting to and from work is essential.
• Excellent timekeeping and customer service skills.
