Job summary

Manpower UK is hiring an experienced Class 1 ADR Tanker Driver for an assignment in Bury St Edmunds. You will perform depot-to-depot trunking, refuelling at refinery sites, and ensure safe transportation of hazardous goods while upholding high standards of customer service and road safety.

Shifts start between 4:00am and 6:00am with Friday–Tuesday patterns. Weekend shifts are paid at overtime rates; PAYE employment with 28 days holiday and ongoing support from your Manpower consultant.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence is required.
• Current ADR Class 2 in Tanks qualification is required.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card needed.

Recruitment Context

Manpower Driving & Logistics are recruiting on behalf of a leading national client for experienced Class 1 ADR Drivers based at Saxham, Bury St Edmunds.

Role Summary

The Role: As a Class 1 ADR Driver, you'll be responsible for:

• Depot-to-depot trunking deliveries
• Refuelling at refinery sites
• Safe and compliant transportation of hazardous goods
• Maintaining high standards of customer service and road safety

Start Times and Shift Patterns

Start times: Between 4:00am and 6:00am

Available Shift Patterns: Friday - Tuesday - Both weekend shifts paid at £29.33 per hour

Pay & Benefits

£19.55 per hour | £29.33 per hour after 42.5 hours per week and for all weekend shifts

PAYE employment, 28 days paid holiday per year, Dedicated Manpower consultant providing ongoing support, Long-term assignment with a nationally recognised employer

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Current ADR Class 2 in Tanks qualification
• Valid Driver CPC
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Minimum 1 years’ HGV driving experience
• No more than 6 penalty points
• No DD or DR convictions
• Previous trunking or fuel delivery experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

Duration & Start Dates

November start dates are available. This role is expected to run until approximately April 2027 (weather dependant), after which requirements will be reviewed.
